What coins do and how you get them
Coins are the core of the game: you flip them to collect money, and each coin's rarity determines how much money you earn per spin. Coins are also used in the Ruined Station to mine for ores and items — that is a separate leveling zone where coin rarity neither helps nor hurts your progress.
You obtain coins through the gacha system at the Fountain on the first floor of Pancake Station. You start with the basic Penny, flip to earn money, then buy more coins. There is also a coin upgrade NPC where you select a stat on the right side and upgrade it with an animation.

What to do with unwanted coins instead
- Upgrade a coin you plan to keep: visit the upgrade NPC and select a stat to improve (for example, Money Earned). Beginners should avoid spending all their money upgrading basic coins, since better coins come quickly.
- Enchant a good coin: once you have a decent coin, enchant it. Recommended enchants are Wealth, Heads, and Flash at tier two or three rather than first-tier enchants.

- Use them in the Ruined Station: coins can mine for ores and items there, and rarity doesn't affect your progress.
